Even though today’s text types have changed tremendously, we still write a lot: from short e-mails, blog entries and comments on social media sites to professional letters of application and speech scripts. Of course, developing writing skills must be a central task in the foreign language classroom too.
We must keep in mind that writing „good“ texts does not come naturally but is a process that takes time and some preparation for students and teachers as well.
- How can we prepare our students for writing „good“ texts?
- How can we support our students while writing and editing their first drafts ?
- How can we evaluate the final versions and give adequate feedback?
We will be looking at the three stages of writing and will present some useful methods and tasks you can use with younger and also advanced learners of English. In order to illustrate these teaching ideas more effectively, we will focus on three different text types (writing a biography, a narration as well as writing a review).
The webinar will be held in English.
